Dania Beach Hurricane

The only roller coaster in South Florida and one of only three wooden ones in the entire state. The ride is 3,200 feet long and travels through dips, curves and a tunnel at 55 mph. Since the coaster is wooden, every sound is magnified, so that loud creaking can be heard as it makes its way up to the 100- foot drop at the beginning of the ride. And it has the signature"lift'' of wooden roller coasters, where the riders get temporarily lifted off their seats as they fly by.

It's at Boomers, 1760 NW First St. From Interstate 95, exit Stirling Road east, turn left at Bryan Road and left at Northwest First Street. Park and enter through Boomers.
